Gary C. Wyatt Construction working to get Concord back on its feet after April 27 tornado

Birmingham, Ala. – The April 27 tornado that struck a path through Tuscaloosa, and on through, parts of West Jefferson County, left little standing in the tiny town of Concord.   Now as the town begins to recover, Gary C. Wyatt announced this week that they have been awarded the contract to re-build Concord Elementary School.

“After the tornado, a team of us went to Concord to volunteer,” said John Wyatt, Vice President, Gary C. Wyatt Construction. “If anyone has seen the damage then you know how totally devastating the tornado was. Nothing was left untouched in the town.  We are working to get the elementary school built so that the kids can have some sense or get back to some sense of normalcy.”

The 70,000 sq ft. school is scheduled to open in August 2012 at the beginning of the school year.  The cost of the project is $11.6 million.
